A Scots Psalm (CXXI)
The first of three unaccompanied settings of Psalms, in the remarkable Scots versions published by P. Hatley-Waddel in 1871. The style of all three settings is somewhat influenced by models from Scottish traditional music, and they are all short and accessible. The texts contain some unfamiliar words which may need to be looked up online or in a dictionary, but the general sense is easily understood - specially if you are familiar with the Authorised version.
