A small composition, that i did at university. its dedicated to Ottorino Respighi….a hero of mine!! The middle section is a quote from Pines of Rome (the offstage trumpet solo from the catacombs section)
No direct quotes from gregorian chant here,but i did try to capture the spirit of the Italian Church, paticularly of Assisi..a favourite place of mine. Just as Respighi did in his tone poem Vetrate di Chiesa.
