This piece, in its revised and extended form as presented here, received its first public performance on 18th September 2004 at a concert in London given by the Fourth Dimension String Quartet as part of the All Ears Contemporary Music Festival. The three movements are dedicated to three friends whose musicianship, good company and sense of humour have been a source of continuing pleasure: Alan Hilton, Bernard Hughes and Tim Ellis.
The attached mp3 file is taken from a live recording of the concert - complete with some background traffic noise! My thanks to the Fourth Dimension String Quartet for their permission to use this recording.
