This is a stand alone piece. I wrote it earlier this year after watching a science documentary about Nebulae. I was utterly fascinated with these unbelievably large and beautiful cloud formations in our universe. I wanted to write something that could capture that feeling.
Of course, this piece is not a soaring, coloratura masterpiece like Chopin or Liszt, nor is it a staggering orchestral work such as Langgaard's Music of the Spheres, but instead I wanted it to be a more understated piece. A nebula doesn't make an effort to amaze, and as it is just gas and dust, it's construction is fairly simple. Those are the ideals I wished to capture with this piece.
