The poems are from ‘Through the Looking Glass’ by Lewis Carroll. They form a continuous piece with orchestral interludes between each poem.

1. The Little Fishes of the Sea 2. The Walrus and the Carpenter 3. The Aged, Aged Man 4. Jabberwocky

This work was written for Cranleigh School Centenary Celebrations, 1965, and was given its first performance in the Civic Hall, Guildford, on 28th May, 1965 conducted by the composer.

The Baritone solo part is intended for a professional singer, but the choral writing is written with amateur choral societies in mind. The orchestral part, however, requires players of professional or competent semi-professional standard.
