Carissimi's "Vittoria, Vittoria!" is a favourite aria of singers and singing teachers, being one of the early Italian arias often used in vocal tuition. This arrangement adds a second soloist, providing a decorate balancing part to the original melodic line. Carissimi repeats his melodic line in the original aria. In this arrangement it is shared between both singers, so that each soloist has the chance to sing the main tune. Creating a duet from a solo aria gives singers the chance to participate in some vocal chamber music and adds another dimension to their performance skills.
