This suite of exercises for solo alto (treble) recorder were written in New York City in 1965, and published then in a small private edition. The suite was reviewed by Joel Newman in American Recorder Magazine, who said "…These pieces are full of charm…I find the pieces particularly valuable as drills for slurring." The seven movements stand alone as performance pieces, but also serve as exercises in slurring, phrasing, rhythm, and sustained notes for intermediate players. As solos these pieces encourage smooth phrasing. (NOTE: Computer playback can only approximate performance quality reproduction.)
