This piece was written for a concert given in Manchester in 2004 to celebrate Stephen Dodgson's 80th Birthday. The title is an anagram of Stephen Dodgson, and Lewis Carroll whose real name was Charles Dodgson was a remote ancestor of Stephen's. The work is a setting for Soprano, Recorder and Harpsichord of some of Lewis Carroll's symbolic logic puzzles and was requested by John Turner as a surprise for the concert. The soprano sings the items of each puzzle in turn (each puzzle has only one logical answer), but saves up the answers for the final fugal section.
