William Henry Harrison, should have worn a hat. After a long speech, he contracted a fatal cold, and within a month of inauguration he was dead. Henry Dielman penned a funeral march in 1841 to commemorate his brief term.
This date coincides with the begining of the Brass Band movement, and was probably performed with keyed instruments. Although, the instruments were primative, the music is nonetheless powerful.
