"carlota" is a pas de deux written for Ballet de Monterrey and its artistic director Robert Hill. This work is currently serving as a demo to promote the funding for "carlota" a complete ballet in two acts, based on the lives of Maximiliano and Carlota, focusing on their dramatic affairs while living in Mexico. Even though this work doesn't seek to be close to the style of music in that period of history, a quote of a famous song from that time is used at the end of the piece: "La Paloma" by Agustin Yradier.
