This was written in 2001 for the composer’s wedding. The text is taken from the Song of Solomon in the Latin translation, and were selected by the composer’s wife, partly for the sonority of the words. The text is particularly suitable for a wedding or other celebration, particularly the passage beginning ’Comedite, amici…’ (’Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill, O lovers.’)
It is scored for soprano and tenor soli, SATB, piano, and solo violin and cello.
