This is the first movement of my first string quartet. Composed late in 1998, it was debuted on Feb. 24, 1999 by Luigi and his Rebel Band of String Players. The first and fourth movements draw largely on my rock influences, while the third draws mostly on my asian influences. The first movement is in moderate tempo and is a fun piece for performers and audiences alike. Despite the frequent meter changes, the first movement can be (and has been) performed at the high-school level.
