This is a short two-part invention in baroque style written as a student exercise years ago when I was in college. It is fairly simple with only one hand at a time needing concentration on the part of the younger performer (for whom this piece is intended) who has just progressed to the point of playing simple counterpoint, but has not yet appropached the technical skill needed for Bach’s far more demanding inventions. This piece is meant to be a teaching tool that will give the younger student a little taste of two-part counterpoint. Have fun with it!
