A slow and defeated reflection on growing old. Both piano and cello interact to relieve tired muscles and fading memories. The piece can be played very rubato if wanted with plenty of pauses between phrases, depending on the mindset and mood of the players.
Ta Be Owd (To Be Old) is inspired by one of the many poems left unpublished by Mrs Anna Horton, grandmother of the composer.
