This prelude for solo violin is somewhat influenced by Bach's suites and Pagannini's caprices. The piece makes use of arpeggios and barriolage techniques. The first half of the binary form is in G major and modulates to D. The second section changes to the minor mode and concludes with a recap of the beginning. This prelude is harder than hard, but if you've got the technique, here's the chance to show it off!
