Brooks-Davies: Advent antiphon 2 (O Adonai) SATB choir a cappella
For a note on the O-(or Magnificat)Antiphons, see my setting of Advent Antiphon 1, O Sapientia. This setting of no. 2 (officially sung on 18 December)was composed as a short anthem or introit for use any time during Advent. My translation: O Lord [Adonai], Head of the house of Israel, who appeared to Moses in brightest flame in the burning bush, and gave the Law to him on Sinai: come, O come and redeem us with an outstretched arm.
