"Valse Sentimentale" Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) Arr. James Strauss The "Valse Sentimentale" was one of Tchaikovsky's "Six Morceaux," Opus 51. Originally composed for solo piano in 1882, this waltz has long been a popular salon piece. Indeed it seems to have been tailor made for the sweet tones of the modern concert flute. This arrangement its dedicated to my sweet Fabiana Fontoura.
