Louis James Alfred Lefebure-Wely was a Parisian church organist playing at the Madeleine and St.Suplice and this must be one of the most recorded organ pieces of all time. A 'Sortie' is an Outgoing piece and this one is really fun to play - certainly a challenge for your quartet! I've arranged it quite freely so everbody has something to do as most of the melody in the original is in the right hand.
You might try playing the quavers/eighths with a light swing - it goes rather well and sounds quite saxy!
