This three-movement work has been commissioned by the Friends of Plymouth Museum & Art Gallery, and was first performed in October 2001, as part of a recital by ’One piano - four hands!, featuring Clive Jenkins and myself - shown in the photo!
Essentially a romantic piece, there is a strong rhythmic drive in the outer movements, which frame a simple Lento. It is a work which would be an effective concert piece, but which requires a concert standard of performance and high level of keyboard proficiency from both players. The Lento could be suitable for less able players as a stand-alone piece.
