This piece was written for an event that my mother's trio played at. They had two violas and a cello, and there isn't a lot of music written for that combination, so they asked me to write one. I later transcribed the 1st viola to violin, so it can be played by a regular string trio as well. The name refers to changing from E minor to E major in the middle section, and also the rising line which then falls back to end where the piece began.
