This is an outrageous transcription for 2 flutes and piano (with optional part for dramatic soprano) of Wagner’s famous orchestral piece. It was originally intended to finish off a flute recital by highly qualified performers. At the first performance of this transcription, the vocal part (which is only 24-bars long) was performed by the pianist’s page-turner, who happened to be a dramatic soprano.

At the end, the pianist is invited to sing along with the words of Elmer Fudd – as he chased Bugs Bunny in the immortal Merry Melody "Kill the Wabbitt."
