My Nonet charts are fully written out compositions and scored for 6 Horns and Rhythm Section. I have taken inspiration from a mix of musical genres including Pop, Classical, World Music and Jazz. The title Apollonian Clockwork is taken from a book written about Stravinsky by one of my favourite composers Louis Andriessen. My piece is based on a constant 2 bar refrain played at the intro by Electric Piano and is written contrary to the 'clockwork' in the title in 3 time. However, I have endeavoured to include the attributes of reason, harmony and restraint of the Greek god Apollo.
