A very old carol originally written in Latin, but since 1961 usually sung in English to David Willcocks’ arrangement. In this setting I have tried to preserve the mediaeval atmosphere with the use of 4ths and 5ths in the harmony. There are some scrunches which singers may enjoy. Harmonies become more complex as time goes on.
V1: tenors & basses sing melody unaccompanied. V2: sops and altos with TB harmony. V3: tenors & basses with SA harmony. V4: Sops with ATB harmony. V5: Altos and basses with ST harmony. Lively ending.
