After hearing Max Richter's beguiling "On the Nature of Daylight" for string quintet I was briefly obsessed by it and thought I would have a go at taking his structure as the basis for an work of my own in a similar vein. Hence the title, though the structural idea is the only plagiarism.
The MP3 is a live recording of a performance by the Alaw Quartet, a shockingly-talented young Cardiff-based ensemble.
