This is one of those tunes that, for me, just shout Christmas. I love the olde worlde sound and immediately think of Christmas trees, cinnamon and cloves, snow, carol singing and a roaring fire. I also wanted the sound of a recorder consort with guitars standing in for a lute or two, but the descant recorder part could just as easily be a flute and the harmonies are not sacrosanct if it is a beginner ensemble. The guitar solo will stand alone, or with the recorder group. The three acoustic guitars work together as a trio, or with recorder/recorders or the arrangement can be played with a larger ensemble as written. Thus a truly flexible arrangement. I just wanted the ancient sounds! Acoustic guitar 1 TAB has been edited to explore the middle range of the neck, acoustic guitar 2 gives the player a chance to explore close harmonies in the mid range and acoustic guitar 3 has a drop D tuning to make the bass more rich.
