The concluding chorus of Camille Saint-Saens "Christmas Oratorio" provides a majestic ending to that work, but also works as a stand-alone Christmastide anthem. The composer provides minimal suggestions regarding dynamics and tempo even though the piece cries out for a quickening of pace during the contrapuntal section in the middle before expanding to a thunderous maestoso at the end. This arrangements provides those interpretive suggestions and moves the key down a whole step from the original key of G, a blessing when you have a small Christmas Eve soprano section!
