One of the biggest hits of the harpsichord repertoire, this attractive piece sounds like a sequence of arpeggiated chords. However, giving the notes a little more sustain it is actually comprised of a sequence of long notes with offset beginnings. After I saw an arrangement of this for viols that tried such an approach, but only half-heartedly, I wrote this arrangement for ATTBG recorders.
The notes here are not hard, but playing properly syncopated, and have the whole ensemble sound like that arpeggiated harpsichord, is a good exercise in ensemble play.
