Franz Wilhelm Ferling was a German born composer and oboist. He is probably best remembered for his 48 Etudes for Oboe. These pieces are still regularly studied and performed to today by both oboists and saxophonists. These lovely duo's, of which this is the first, predate the Etudes having been composed before 1829, the date of the first recorded publication.
