“Dualidad”, for two Guitars (1979), is a study that deals with the duality of passive energy in music. It is influenced in some way by the Indian ragas and other oriental music where static sound is cosmic energy; time in motion, the sound of the sacred Om.
The guitars are tuned in “scordatura”, a half-step apart. The resulting clash transforms and modulates the guitars constant arpeggiated tone color. This work should be listened to in contemplative calm and received as a transcendental experience.
