This is a rumination on the difference in character between flute and recorder. Their sound character can be rather different. So consider this an investigation into how well they play together or contrast, and draw your own conclusions. The initial thought was that the flute is a technically more agile instrument, because of Boehm's briliant key system. So I wanted to reverse that and give the flute a melodic part, with the recorder fast rhythmic stuff. And then I flipped the script halfway. Regardless, the only thing remaining is a difference in range: a recorder is pretty much limited to 2 octaves, while a flute has 3. That was also the reason I used an alto recorder, so that the flute goes both higher and lower.

You can of course play this as a flute duet, but that loses a little of the differing character of the parts.
