Op.45 - Pie Jesu Domine (Vocal Score) [S/MzS/A, Choir & Piano]
The melody for this setting of the popular Requiem text has been around in my mind for sometime, and I have finally set it. The repetitive nature of ’dona, dona eis’ is in written in order to show the penitential and urgent nature of this otherwise sweetly-set text.
In summary, a bit naff, but easy on the ear.
The two piano parts combine the orchestral setting, and it would be wise to use these as a basis in the style of continuo-reading.
