These POSTCARDS were written for the St. Nicholas-at-Wade Concerts in Kent. The idea was to set an atmosphere or impression in a short piece, just as one writes as much information as one can on a postcard. This tune creates, for me, the Spanish countryside. It works well on a Cor Anglais. See also Oboe and Piano.
