Requiem - Agnus Dei
'Agnus Dei' is a short piece written for solo soprano and solo alto (or first and second trebles), a small orchestra and organ. The piece consists of four sections. The first for solo alto only, followed by a contrasting section for solo soprano. The next section brings together both voices using thematic material from the first section. The piece ends with a short chromatic codetta. The music consisting of Faure-like harmonies that are haunting and evocative.
