It’s the Christmas holiday season, and musicians throughout Christendom get ready to serenade congregations in churches, shoppers in malls, and party goers at festive receptions. Here is Volume I, with 22 of the best known carols for the Christmas season arranged for string orchestra.

  • Note: In Volume I, for "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Away In a Manger (3)" (American version), the string bass part is obligatory, as it is sufficiently different from the cello part. All other pieces may be played without string bass if necessary.

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:
