The Seven Valleys was written as a letter in classical Persian style to a Sufi scholar. The text of "He Hath Most excellent Names" is from the preface to the actual description of the seven valleys, and refers to the Arabic derivatives of the name Muhammad - Ahmad and Mahm�d. I have set this text in a quasi baroque style as a song of praise for Muhammad, the Founder of Islam. I hope that this song, and thereby the whole suite can be a bridge of understanding between Muslims and Bah�'�s. "He Hath.." is a tenor solo. I originally wrote it in A - a challenge for most tenors. This version is in G. It follows the "Prologue…". Next in sequence is "Stages of the Journey".
