Pictures from an Exhibition is a series of ten pieces composed in 1874 as a remembrance of Viktor Hartmann. It was originally written as a piano suite, although for many years it has been orchestrated and arranged by many a composer. The most recorded version is Maurice Ravel’s arrangement for symphony orchestra.
