The opening movement of my first symphony and is also my very first attempt at original composition. The symphony is a depiction of the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus, and this movement is a depiction of the trials that he faced first with Pilate, next with Herod, then back with Pilate. Pilate was serious and profound; Herod was loose and sarcastic.
