433 beats (orchestra)
Some music is composed from the heart; this piece is itself a heart. It depicts the flow of blood through the chambers of the heart–right atrium to right ventricle to the lungs to the left atrium and finally to the left ventricle. During this process, the heart suffers a massive attack and gets hooked up to an EKG machine. The heart stops when the music dies, and that happens after 433 beats.
433 beats is not an allusion to John Cage’s 4’33"
