Bolero (Tenor Sax and Piano)
"Bolero" is a one - movement orchestral piece by Maurice Ravel, and was originally composed for the Ballet Russes. Ravel regarded the piece as an experiment in a very special and limited direction, and issued a warning to the effect that what he had written was a piece lasting 17 minutes and consisting wholly of "orchestral tissue without music" - of one very long gradual crescendo. The melody of "Bolero" is well known o many, and has been featured in op culture, motion pictures, video games and even in Dr Who.
