The pieces were written between 12/2/07-31/3/07 at the same time as working on the African TV pieces.
The setting of the Nunc Dimittis was completed on the 3/3/07, the same day that the setting of the Magnificat was started.
Both the Nunc Dimittis & Magnificat are set for Soprano, Counter Tenor (Alto), Tenor, and Bass and were written with soloists in mind rather than a full choir. The ’Glory be..’ employs the same music for both sections as is traditional.
