Air on a G string
This popular air was written c.1717 for Prince Leopold. It was originally part of the orchestral suite BWV 1068. It was given it’s familiar title when violinist August Wilhelmj transposed it into the key of C major and was able to play it using only the G string on his violin. This piece is perfect for weddings and other special occasions. This version has been arranged for two flutes and guitar.
