It is in two movements: Destruction by Ice and Destruction by Fire. It is inspired by 2 poems, the first by Robert Frost which runs: Some say the world will end in fire; Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To know that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
And also T.S Eliot’s famous line: This is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper.
The first of these two movements is entitled "Destruction by Ice.
