Four Poems (Soprano. Flute, Bb Clarinet, and Piano) is a dramatic setting of four Romantic poems by Walt Whitman, Ella Wheeler Wilcox, Robert Frost, and Edgar Allan Poe. While the music is tonal, the tonality is constantly shifting. The music reflects the meaning of the text by setting the mood and through the use of word painting. There is some brief narration that can be performed by the soprano or by the soprano with optional audience participation. It was been recorded by Conundrum on the CD Collage. The soprano performs from the score. There are separate parts for flute, clarinet and piano.
