Away in a Manger - Solo Guitar with TAB
Away in a Manger was first published in an 1885 Lutheran Sunday School book by James R. Murray (March 7, 1841 - March 10, 1905), but the author of the first two stanzas is unknown.
The tune commonly used in the United Kingdom is by William J. Kirkpatrick and was first published in 1895. It is certain that stanza three was added in 1904 by Dr. John McFarland of New York City.
This arrangement with open bass notes is playable by any pre-grade 1 guitarist who can cope with three sharps! It could be capoed at fret five for a more suitable singing key for children and played for Primary/Elementary children to sing along to in a nativity play.
The TAB may help those less confident!

Which method of viewing music should I use?
Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:
You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.
Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.
If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
