Parallel scales are not for beginners, but this is a pretty easy intro to this type of scale. I use short scale passages in thirds, sixths and tenths often in my arrangements to make them more interesting. Practicing these scales, and my similar arrangement for C Major scales, should help make those passages in my LGH arrangements much easier.
Pay particular attention to the fingering in the notation section. Also, the TAB will give a good picture of how the first two scales are played all the way up the neck on the same two strings they begin on.
