Vocalise - Etude (Oboe and Piano)
"Vocalise - etude en forme de habanera" is a short piece originally for low voice and piano, written by Maurice Ravel in March 1907;� it was commissiuoned by A.L.Hettich as one of a series of studies by contemporary composers for use in his voice classes in the Paris Conservatoire.� The 'Habanera' is a musical style dance or genre from Cuba.� Elements of 'Habanera' also influenced American Jazz by New Orleans musicians such as Jelly Roll Morton, who called it 'The Spanish Tinge'.� The piano accompaniment is NOT easy.
