They fit the range of the flute very well, though the top line of the second canon goes to top E at one pont, which less experienced sax players may find a little squeaky. Do listen to the mp3 file of the first piece (played on flutes). Because it's not a canon in unison, it doesn't sound so obviously canon-like. The listener picks out a melodic line which is a fusion of the two parts.
