Andante op 120 no 1
This is the concerto movement that Brahms never wrote (but perhaps should have done!) and was arranged with a pupil in mind. Although she could take on something more challenging, I had to bear in mind what the school orchestra could reasonably manage. To maintain the integrity of the original clarinet part, the strings have ended up playing in a slightly tricky key, however, the steady tempo should make it manageable. A flautist is needed as well as strings; I would recommend no more than 4 of each of the upper strings and two cellos and a bass. A violin 3 part is available as an alternative to the viola (sadly missing in some schools).
