The Mountains of Mourne is a favourite tune of mine, a bittersweet and nostalgically homesick song from the Irish diaspora of the 19th century.

Its lyrics were written in 1896 by Irish musician Percy French. It is normally sung to the same tune used by Thomas Moore (1779-1852) for his song "Bendemeer’s Stream".

The Mourne Mountains of the title are located in County Down in present-day Northern Ireland.

I apologise for the key, but this is the key I was most comfortable singing in and therefore how I heard it when arranging! There is TAB for those who struggle with sharps!
