Sonata Gothica is a Piano Sonata in two movements. Its carachter is that of gothic Fantasia for Organ, in facts most of the first movement can be arranged for Church Organ.
It consists of a conductus-like main theme, supported by massive chords and obsessive melodic lines, with a variation form towards the middle of the piece, which then leads to the repetition of the ghostly intro, to close the composition's cycle. The second movement is a short melancholic ballad, with
reminiscenses of Bart�k or other Balcan Music.
